Is Mark Giordano a candidate for the James Norris Memorial Trophy?

Essentially the James Norris Memorial Trophy is awarded to the NHL top defensive player of the season. Giordano so far this season has been playing extremely well.  Giordano has three goals and 26 assists in 29 games. Giordano was also in the 2014-2015 a candidate for Norris Trophy but was injured in one of the games at the end of the season. Last season Giordano had 38 points in 82 games, but this season he already has 29 points in 29 games this season which is very impressive. Giordano gets a two-game suspension after his hit on Mikko Koivu. In an interview with Flames tv, Giordano said, “I felt bad about the hit, but the play resulted in an injury.”  Giordano has never been suspended in his career and this is his first time for a suspension. Hopefully, the Flames beat the Predators and the Oilers. IMG_1849
