Now, this is a very controversial topic. The Flames have been a force to be reckoned with this season. Their ability to score a lot of goals especially in the third period has been one of many attributes the Flames have had the entire season. Currently, they are sitting first in the Pacific and they are currently third in the league with a record of 19-9-2 (40pts). So we know the Flames have had a lot of goaltending issues ever since the retirement of Mikka Kiprusoff and that the Flames had to depend on Gaudreau for the offence. Since the start of this 2018-19 season, the Flames have had a lot of consistency. Over the last 10 games, the Flames are 7-2-1 and after the thumping 9-1 loss to the Penguins, the Flames have had a record of 12-4-2 (26pts). David Rittich has been phenomenal for the Flames. After early goaltending issues with Mike Smith and David Rittich has held up the fort for the Flames. He has a record of 8-2-0. In my opinion, I think The Flames are a team that can get deep into the playoffs. They have had scoring from their bottom six and the top line of Monahan, Gaudreau, and Lindholm have been nothing but exceptional. If the Flames continue to get consistent goaltending and great defence they are a team that can go to the Conference Finals and maybe even the Stanley Cup Final. Considering they are the only team with four players that have 30+ points is a huge deal. They have had scoring from their defence as Noah Hanifin has finally got going and Giordano having another career year.
